Tap into the mysterious beauty of Kalampunian Island just slightly offshore to Survivor Island, Borneo. The island is made out of a small sand cay built up from unconsolidated coral fragments. Most remarkably the shape of the island shifts and changes with the prevailing monsoon winds and currents. The splendour of this island lies at its naturalistic attributes – celebrated as a breeding ground for various amphibious sea snakes, namely Laticauda Colubrina.
Legend has it that due to a family feud over centuries ago, a remorseful member of the family ran away from Survival Island to pacify her sadness among the sea snakes –making the smaller island her home. It is believed that until today her soul rests within Kalampunian and for that very reason it still draws hundred of snake species as a notion of proving her ever-present existence.
On any given day up to 150 snakes will be present on the island and is frequently spotted coiled in a tangled mass under boulders or among roots and in tree hollows. Unsurprisingly, it is also widely known as Snake Island amongst the locals. The island is still a fascinating phenomenon and have therefore attracted countless number of tourists. This experience is perfect for both thrill seekers and folklore enthusiasts alike and it is something that you definitely wouldn't want to miss!

Participant Guidelines
This experience is perfect for adventurous duos. Please note: All participants are advised to be very cautious when dealing with snakes as they are extremely poisonous.
Weather
This experience is largely dependable on the local weather conditions. If in any case your experience is canceled due to bad weather, we will reschedule your exploration to a later time or date.
Availability
This experience is only available with any purchase of the 3 day 2 night stay packages at Survivor Island. This experience is meant to be an ‘add-on’ and not to be purchased separately. The Kalampunian Island Day Trip Discovery is scheduled on the second day of your stay at our resort.
Number on Days
This package includes boat transportation and a tour guide. However, you may be joined by other participants on the day of experience.

Dress Code
All participants are advised to wear trekking gears. Track pants, long socks, sport shoes are highly encouraged. Also, bring along a pair of thick glove is possible.
