Note: The Penang Hill funicular train service up to the hill has been temporarily shut down for upgrading works until further notice (tentatively until Sept 2010). The other alternative option are Jeep rides which are available next to the entrance of the Botanic Gardens in Jalan Kebun Bunga. The ride will take less than 30 minutes.The jeep service is priced at RM15 per person for a return trip and is payable directly to the provider at Botanical Gardens. Each 4WD is able to take four persons but if you do not want to wait until the seats are filled, you may also rent the service at RM60 per jeep.

For Cinnamon, this 550sq ft suite is the main suite occupying the front portion upstairs of the main bungalow. It also has separate sitting area furnished with cane furniture from the period and a spacious reception area. This suite also has a four poster king size bed with a mosquito net canopy on polished wooden floors.

All 3 suites are furnished with a mahogany antique roll top desk and an antique wardrobe. Not to worry, as much as the suites are restored to have the best of the past, it is also combined with all modern conveniences and spoils of the present. You will also get to enjoy your baths in a large ancient granite bath. To top that off, your suite will also have French windows that open to your very own private courtyard.

The Star Anise suite is the latest in our edition. A free standing double storey "maisonette", it has its own sitting room downstairs and a separate bedroom upstairs. The sitting room downstairs includes a very large day bed and an Edwardian antique sideboard perfect for lounging or entertaining guests. You will also get to enjoy an outdoor shower under a giant mango tree.

Not to worry, as much as the suites are restored to have the best of the past, it is also combined with all modern conveniences and spoils of the present.
