Enter the world of the batik making, drawing, waxing and coloring to create your own unique piece of batik art. During the workshop, you'll gain a range of batik skills and finish the day with an individual, hand-made piece of batik art you can proudly show-off to your friends! So, grab your girlfriends and be prepared to embark on a journey of fun and laughter!
The relaxed atmosphere of your batik making workshop is set as you descend the driveway to the workshop location. Your day begins with an introduction from the artists, about the background of batik art, followed by a studio orientation. The rest of the morning will be spent learning basic skills such as drawing, applying wax and coloring. You will have immediate hands-on experience, with the artists providing various demonstrations and imparting technical knowledge.
You will leave the workshop with a finished piece and will never look at batik art in the same way again. This 1 hour batik making workshop will introduce you to the basic techniques of designing and making batik art. The workshop begins with an overview of safety procedures and an introduction to the tools and equipment they will be using.
At the start of the session, you will be given a set of equipments:-
- Cotton cloth
- Batik chanting
- Wax
- Colour(dye)
- Brushes
- Apron
- Containers
A team of friendly artists will be there to guide you through the experience. Aside from the many pieces on display, you can also find inspiration in the many photos of past students’ work or from a wide selection of designs i.e. floral, animals to marine lives. It is recommended that you bring some of your own designs for inspiration. Or even better, design and come up with a truly unique design! It could also be motifs that represent something meaningful.
Our batik workshop area is very spacious and airy set on a wide space that can fit in 100 people!
This experience normally takes about an hour to complete. Within the span of no time, you will be mastering the art of designing and making your very own batik.
On this experience, you will get to learn:-
- Drawing the design
- Applying wax on the outline of the design
- Applying colour to your design
After that, we will dry the batik art that you produced, fix the color and remove the wax. You can come back the next day to pick up the masterpiece. Alternatively, you may request for it to be sent to a local address within Klang Valley without additional cost.
