Whilst in Ulu Slim, we also have a paintball challenge in the jungle. Split into team of 5, each team will need to fight off each other and the team that grabs the team’s flag first wins the challenge. It was our first time playing paintball in a jungle environment, and coupled with rain and hazardous trails, the experience was greatly heighten.

During the 5 minutes shoot out, I almost felt like a sniper - it was so fun that we were disappointed when our assigned “flag grabber” brought the game to an end when he successfully grab the flag before our opponent. If not for the heavy downpour, we would surely go for a second round. It was mind-blowing and surely, an excellent way to release stress. Towards the end, we had some target shooting practice and though this was not as fun as the “real shoot out” in the jungle, it was still a great experience!

Just recently we accompanied one of our corporate client to Ulu Slim, Perak for a White Water Rafting Adventure. It was a whole day event and we started our journey at 7.00am on a lazy Saturday morning. The journey to Ulu Slim took us about 2 hours - to keep the spirit up for the adventure, riddles and some activities were carried out. Breakfast was tuna and egg sandwich - which tasted great ! Well, it was after all made with love - we had to wake up at 4 am to prepare it.

From 4WD/Truck ride to getting drenched from head to toe - the experience was just awesome and worthwhile. City girls at heart, we came in close contact with the Orang Asli, eating by the jungle and yes, taking a ride in open truck on a road so bumpy that you could hear us yelling from miles away.

Among one of the many perks of our job is the luxury to travel ! Yes… we are thrilled and excited whenever there is a road trip. Just like school kids, the anticipation of a road trip, never fails to excite us. Last September, we organised an off site massage for one of our clients, CSA and CIMB. It was a 5 hour massage session at Port Dickson.

The hotel that our client stayed do not have their own in house spa/massage, so we were contacted to bring the experience all the way to Port Dickson. The allocated 5 hours slot was fully booked out and well received. The participants enjoyed the massage session so much that some of them had more than one treatment session! We had fun, made some new acquaintances and though it was a tiring event, it is definitely worth it as our clients were pleased with our commitment and the quality of our services.

RedRibbon Days was officially launched on June 19th, 2008. It was inaugurated by our very own Y.B. Dato’ Seri Hj. Mohd Shafie Apdal, Minister of Culture, Arts & Heritage of Malaysia. The event started at 4.30pm, an auspicious hour picked by our Feng Shui Master.

The event venue was filled with 20 feet streamers with black and red helium balloons - the corporate colors of RedRibbon Days. Our generous suppliers sponsored prizes for lucky draws, gift bags and even cupcakes! A big thank you to all our suppliers who jump onboard with us, for believing in us. And to our media friends, thank you for coming and reporting on us - we made it to the news that very night at TV3(8.00pm) .It was indeed a very tiring day for all of us - from all the planning to the day of the event. But judging from how well it went, it was all worth it.

At RedRibbon, we believe it is of penultimate importance that we live our work, to experience and to have fun. In fact, to have fun is one of the company values that we stand by. We are constantly having fun, experiencing new experiences and searching for new experiences to add on to our ever-growing list of experience.

We work hard, but we work to play hard too. It is a very challenging work environment, but it is also these challenges that make us the best. We may be small now, but we sure do have very big visions for RedRibbon Days.

Our very first RedRibbon Days experience! Thanks to Rohani, who gave invited us to join her Curry Class. It was fun, hot and spicy. There’s nothing quite like the smell of 6 different types of curries being cooked at the same time, so indeed it was a very hot and hungry experience. Putting our aprons on, the cook out began in Rohani’s cozy chalet looking house. After an hour and half of chopping, stirring and wiping off sweat, we were cooking up few very spicy dishes in no time.

At the same time, we also learned how to best “tumis” (fry) the spices, what types of leaves to use for different type of curries and how long to cook each type of curries. The experience was fabulous, the teamwork was fantastic, and the food was scrumptious. We tried all the different curries whooped up by other participants and by the end of the meal; we were happy and full. Ahh! A happy stomach is a happy man.

Life at RedRibbon is to experience amazing experiences after one another. A week after our experience with Rohani, we were invited to experience Sky Diving Simulator in Genting Highlands. The ride to Genting was rather an eventful one we were almost chucking our lungs out by the time we reach the top. The experience was hilarious, exciting and fun. A very good experience especially we were all quite bogged down with work and other problems at work. The jump made us forget the to-do’s and datelines. It was certainly a good stress release for the team.

We do have our soft side too. To some, jewellery beading may seem rather conservative and not as exciting. But surprisingly, it turned out to be a real stress reliever! Yes, our jobs are quite demanding and more often than not, we are stress and rushing for datelines. On this very day, we were plagues by some not so good news and went to the experience rather heavy hearted. We all “graduated” with our very first own hand-made piece of jewellery and the overall experience was awesome. It took away our stress and filled with lots of laughter and we had a good time with the instructor, who was really nice, sweet and very patient with us.

This experience is highly addictive and a great way to release stress and frustration. After this experience, the team have the sudden urge to try out shooting using a real gun. Suddenly, the thought of being a sniper sounds very exciting(to me).

Tokyo Drift, Fast and Furious - do they all ring a bell? To prove those who often says “Women are bad drivers” wrong - we have decided to take this challenge. This experience lasted a day and by end of the day, I would say - we are ready to drift. In an empty piece of land, that is. This experience was truly an amazing experience for anyone who drives a car. The first half session was spent on theory - whereby the highly professional and experienced instructors briefed to us the concept of advanced/defensive driving. Next half was practical and we were all put to test on what we learned. Drifting, testing out ABS brakes, how to avoid an accident, how to control your car when you skid and best part - no driving when you are drunk! This is surely one lesson we all have to adhere to closely. To make our day - there was even a TV crew from TV2 doing making a film on Advanced Driving! Yes, do keep a lookout for us - appearing in TV sometime in June ‘08.

Our birthday boy Modjo turned 1 on 24th April this year. We ordered a birthday cake and lots of treats for him from one of our supplier, who baked healthy cakes and treats for dogs. The cake and treats were awesome! Modjo simply can’t wait to devour it all! He was practically jumping up and down begging for more treats. Since it was his birthday, we did spoil him a little - by letting him had an extra serving of food. He is one little happy camper for that day.

Congratulations to our first few customers who have enjoyed a RedRibbon Day! Amy and Fazlina decided to celebrate their birthday by getting in touch with their wild and adventurous side. I had the opportunity to join them and I must say this is the most fun you can have on four wheels, especially when you’re cruising through the bumpy terrains of the jungle while enjoying the pristine surroundings. The best part of the experience is that you’ll arrive at a private 7-tier waterfall, where you can take a dip and enjoy the cool waters after roughing it up. Excellent adventure for couples and groups as certain sections of the trail can be quite tricky as you’ll go up steep hills and run over muddy holes. We saw these as fun obstacles and kept cheering each other on!
