Jazz dancing is a form of dance that showcases a dancer's individual style and originality. Every jazz dancer interprets and executes moves and steps in their own way. Jazz dancing is energetic and fun, consisting of unique moves, fancy footwork, big leaps and quick turns. It is a form of choreography which contains revolutionized ballet styles and movements usually employed for performance purposes. If you loved the dancing from Chicago and Cats, this is up your alley.

You will be having the time of your life with these classes as our classes are always exploding with energy. With music styles ranging from hip-hop to show tunes, the beat alone will get you moving. Your instructor will start the lessons with a thorough warm-up, and then lead the class in a series of stretching exercises and isolation movements. Isolations involve moving one part of the body while the rest of the body remains still. Jazz dancers also practice the art of suspension. Suspension involves moving through positions instead of stopping and balancing in them. Your instructor will end the class with a short cool down to help prevent muscle soreness.

You will be encouraged to "spice up" the steps that are taught, adding your own personality to make them unique and fun. At the end of your classes, you will learn basic jazz steps with choreography to make things a lot more interesting. It's good for posture and muscle toning as well as general flexibility.
